Adobe releases Acrobat 3D 8.0

Adobe has announced the release of Acrobat 3D 8.0 terming it a major upgrade to the popular desktop application for 3D design and CAD users.

Version 8.0 now powers the conversion of what Adobe called, "virtually any 3D CAD file" including files of more than 500 megabytes, into a singular PDF document.

The program supports conversion to 3D PDF from over 40 formats and also gives users the ability to export manufacturing CAD data from PDF into file formats such as STEP, IGES and Parasolid.

The release is available in English, French and German language versions and the company is expected to release a Japanese version in June.
