Enfocus Software has announced that it will launch a major update to its flagship product, PitStop Professional, at the IPEX show in Birmingham. According to Enfocus, the updates PitStop Professional version 7 focus on productivity and usability. At the same show, Enfocus will also unveil PitStop Automate, a task-based production automation tool aimed at design studios, ad agencies, printers and publishers.

"Developing PitStop Professional 7 has turned out to be an interesting journey," says Tom Peire, Director of Corporate Marketing at Enfocus. "Customer feedback has taught us that we have a lot of excellent functionality, but that it is not always easy to find within the increasingly complex application Adobe Acrobat has become."

New or upgraded features in PitStop Professional 7 include: a revamped PitStop Navigator, simplified preflight reporting, an all-in-one PDF/X check, an easy user interface for creating page box templates, improved panels for setting guides, the ability to place PDFs in an existing PDF and the capability to convert text to outlines.
