Ghent Workgroup releases new PDF/X workflow specs

August 21, 2008

Ghent Workgroup has announced release v4 of the Ghent Workgroup specs for automated workflow efficiency. The v4 of the specs support Adobe Acrobat 9 and include the Universal Proof of Preflight developed by the Ghent Workgroup.

Additionally enhancements with the v4 include a check for missing glyphs.

Ghent also noted that the update represents a collection of feedback from the industry and associations over the last three years incorporated in the GWG v4 specs.

The v4 specifications also make the font-related restrictions introduced by the PDF/A ISO Standard mandatory. GWG also released a set of recommended ICC-Profiles with the v4 specifications.
