This week in PDF has seen the launch of a service platform for creating interactive online PDF online catalogs, PDF support added to a graphics package and the release of a new video-based training series for Acrobat 9. Finally, a new blog with useful tips and general information on digital documents has been launched.
First up, KataLogX-Software has released a new service platform designed to convert standard (i.e. non-interactive) PDF brochures into online PDF catalogs. PDF-Flasher offers an interactive index feature which allows the viewer to jump directly to the targeted information with just one click. Also launched this week was Total Training's new training video for Acrobat 9 Professional. Total Training for Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro: Essentials is a professionally produced course designed to get users up to speed on Adobe's newest version of Acrobat. The video series is a total of five hours long, and is presented by Adobe Certified Expert, James Lockman. The series also provides an in-depth look at PDF collaboration and security option, and includes time-saving tips for Acrobat 9. In update news, Kovac Software has announced the addition of full Adobe PDF support to its desktop electronic board-level design software. AutoTRAX EDA 9.48 can now save and archive designs as PDF documents, which allows users to archive and/or distribute designs to others. The product outputs PDF files with each page tailored to the exact size of the design; there is no white printer margin around sheets. There is also no additional cost.
