BCL Technologies has announced the release of easyConverter SDK 1.0, a PDF to Word Programming Toolkit.
The program is aimed at enabling programmers to convert Adobe Acrobat compatible PDF docs to MS Word compatible RTF files. The files can then be edited and modified, and text, graphics, tables and lists can be extracted as well.
BCL's easyConverter SDK's PDF2Word API maintains the contents of the converted PDF files when converted to Word compatible RTF files including font formatting preservation, multi-column pages conversion capability with text flow preserved for ease of editing.
In addition, the program offers List functionality and detects and automatically converts lists into Word. Fonts and formatting features are adjusted to ensure PDF page content fits on the RTF page.
Despite the numerous benefits, there can be potential issues with the conversion of paper documents into electronic archives. When scanning paper pages into PDF, it's possible to end up with the odd- and even-numbered pages in separate PDF files. It can be very time-consuming to collate them manually, but there is an easier way. Sean Stewart explains.
