WindJack Solutions has announced the release of PDF CanOpener 3.0, which the company terms a "major update" of its Acrobat plug-in for analyzing and manipulating data in PDF documents.
Thom Parker, CEO of WindJack Solutions, Inc. said of the release, "PDF CanOpener offers more instant detailed information in popup windows, the ability to print PDF structure information for offline analysis and recordkeeping."
Parker also noted the company added XML editing and viewing capability for users due to the "growing importance of XML metadata and XFA forms in the PDF ecosystem."
PDF CanOpener 3.0 now features compatibility with Acrobat 8.0 and offers users a boosted user interface as well a new functionality for printing PDF structures and viewing XML data in an external editor. Users can now choose to display PDF structural information in a floating window or by utilizing the Acrobat tab windows.
For PDF users and developers the plug-in provides an expedient way to identify and edit data in a PDF including font type, color space, image compression and resolution values. The plug-in gives users the ability to navigate between visual elements on a page and objects contained in the PDF document.
Parker said the company's focus continues to be on adding functionality and features requested by licensees of PDF CanOpener and to ensure that Acrobat and PDFs are easier to user and more accessible to both developers and PDF users.
The solution offers compatibility with Windows 2000, XP and NT4 and a single user license runs $195. The company also offers a free day trial available at the company Web site.
