With the shortest Acrobat product cycle in company history, Adobe Systems today announced the forthcoming release of its Acrobat 7 lineup of Portable Document Format (PDF)-oriented products. They are slated to begin shipping by the end of 2004, according to the company; Acrobat 6 shipped in mid-2003. Acrobat has more typically been on an 18-month product cycle. Planet PDF is developing a range of articles to showcase the next version of Acrobat and the free Adobe Reader, including a variety of new and enhanced features. Check back soon for further details.

Acrobat 7.0 - Planet PDF's Take

Adobe is taking the Acrobat family mainstream with the version 7.0 release. While feature for feature Acrobat 6.0 launched with many more (and really surprised Planet PDF with its improvements) Acrobat 7.0 has launched with what is arguably the most important change to the Acrobat family since Reader was made free back in version 2.0.

Acrobat Developer Workshops in Europe to feature Acrobat 7

Adobe Systems is offering a series of free, English-language workshops for Acrobat developers in London, Munich and Paris during the week of November 22. With Adobe's recent announcement of Acrobat 7, the topics covered in this session will include new features and functionality in Acrobat 7, Adobe Reader 7, Adobe LiveCycle Designer 7 and how these products integrate with Adobe LiveCycle tools.
