Appligent Document Solutions (ADS) and callas software have jointly announced a strategic partnership aimed at broadening awareness of both companies' products in their respective markets and distribution channels.
"We're very excited to be working with callas," said Appligent Document Solutions CEO Duff Johnson. "callas's deep experience with quality assurance for PDF files in the print industry positioned them as the leading PDF/A solutions provider, while our focus has always been business document management," he said. "This alliance will allow us to present callas's expertise alongside our own, a combination that we believe will be extremely powerful," Johnson stated.
"Appligent Document Solutions is one of the oldest and most respected firms in the PDF space," said callas software Managing Director Olaf Drümmer. "We're very pleased to join with them in offering advanced server applications for PDF document management," he said. "We foresee substantial opportunities for our PDF/A conformance technology with ADS's business document management customers," said Drümmer. "At the same time, our own client-base is very interested in the security and encryption, digital signatures, forms, redaction and other technologies that are longtime specialities for ADS," he said.
The companies' joint activities will include a marketing effort to increase the adoption of ISO 19005 (the PDF/A standard for archiving PDF documents); however, neither organization publicly disclosed specific plans. More information about the companies can be found at the ADS and websites.
