Appligent Document Solutions (ADS) announced that the company has joined the PDF/A Competence Center, the industry group dedicated to promoting awareness and adoption of ISO 19005, the standard for archival PDF.

Back in October, 2002, the company was one of the first to become involved in the formulation of the PDF/A standard. In fact, Appligent's CTO, Mark Gavin is an original member of the PDF/A ISO working group.

More PDF/A-related announcements are on the horizon for Appligent Document Solutions. "Our customers have been asking for a way to get PDF/A functionality alongside our existing applications," said Appligent Document Solutions CEO Duff Johnson. "We've thought long and hard about it, and we know that we can deliver the right combination of software and implementation assistance to make any server-based PDF/A-conforming implementation work as intended," Johnson said.

More information can be found at the official ADS website.
