Foxit PDF IFilter 2.1 released: improves speed, stability

January 14, 2011

Foxit has announced a maintenance release of its IFilter product. According to the company, Foxit PDF IFilter has been designed to capitalize on the strengths of multi-core server architectures to maximize the speed of PDF indexing and text searching.

The latest version of the software addresses a pair of major bugs found in the previous release. Specifically, the developers have resolved a conflict issue involving Foxit PDF IFilter and Backup Exec 2010 R2, a crash issue caused by the fpdfcjk.bin file and a problem where Foxit Reader crashes when opening certain PDFs.

"Foxit PDF IFilter has quickly become the IFilter of choice for PDF indexing. One user base includes many fortune 500 companies that rely on Foxit's IFilter technology to index mounds of files in the least amount of time. Even Microsoft Corporation chooses Foxit PDF IFilter as the top solution to index and search within PDF documents using Microsoft Exchange Hosted Services," said Alex Alexander, AVP, Corporate Marketing for Foxit Corporation. "As a world-leading PDF solution provider, Foxit is committed to providing world-class customer support & Service."
