Editor's Note: Formerly CEO of Planet PDF, Karl De Abrew is now the CEO of Debenu (www.debenu.com) -- maker of the Quick PDF Library (formerly iSEDQuickPDF | QuickPDF) (www.quickpdflibrary.com), a powerful royalty-free PDF developer SDK, and Benubird Pro, the easy-to-use personal document management system.

Dan Shea here -- I'm filling in for Karl again this week while he enjoys a little post-nuptial R&R. Given that our fearless leader is off jetting around the globe, I thought it would be a good time for another post about travel. This time, airport security is in focus.

I was browsing Boing Boing the other day and noticed a post on a Shockwave game entitled Airport Security. In the game, you play a security screener who needs to confiscate an arbitrary, ever-changing list of objects in order to build your score. If you miss too many items or confiscate too much then you're in trouble!

I found the game's lighthearted approach refreshing. Like many people, I've had seemingly innocuous and sometimes valuable items confiscated at airport security gates in the past, and the satirical timbre of the game hit just the right note for me.

Give it a shot, and see if you can beat my humble personal best of 180 points...
