MongoNet rolls out open PDF scanning

November 27, 2008

MongoNet has launched MongoScan, a new open PDF scanning solution, which gives users the power to directly scan hard copy documents to any email address using a fax machine.

"MongoSCAN puts PDF scanning functionality into the world’s existing fax network. Now, all 130 million fax machines can send documents to any of the world’s two billion email addresses, with no additional software or hardware required," said Matt Henry, Founder, CEO of MongoNet.

MongoScan is a web-based, pay-per-user open PDF scanning solution for users. It does not require any software installation and users can scan documents to any standard fax machine.

Users are charged at a rate of 25 cents per scanned document page.

MongoScan is backed by the founders of Adobe Systems and other investors, according to the company web site. More information can be found at the MongoSCAN website.
