Nitro PDF Software has launched an update to its flagship product, Acrobat alternative Nitro PDF Professional. The new version adds a number of new features and enhances existing functionality. Among the improvements in Nitro PDF Pro 6.0 are beefed-up PDF-to-Word conversion and major improvements to the underlying PDF creation library for faster processing.
The major update also adds PDF/A compliance support, document management system (DMS) integration support, the option to summarize comments for paper-based viewing and provides users with more control over PDF creation output.
"This is a landmark release for Nitro," said Sam Chandler, Nitro's CEO. "Version 6.0 is packed with numerous new features and enhancements, most notably, superior PDF creation capabilities and the world's best PDF-to-Word conversion. It is better than Adobe's, better than anything else on the market. This release further solidifies our position as the only alternative to Acrobat for business users."
The new version is currently available for free trial download and purchase from www.nitropdf.com, retail outlets and corporate resellers worldwide. The upgrade is free for existing clients with valid Nitro Upgrade Assurance and to those who purchased version 5 on or after May 1st, 2009. Localized versions of Nitro Pro v6 will be available in German, French, Italian, Spanish, and Dutch on June 30th, 2009.
