Karl De Abrew was featured in Entrepreneur.com's story "What Motivates You" by Erika Kotite. The feature focused around what is challenging to entrepreneurs in terms of facing well-established competitors.
De Abrew said the company's next goal is to ensnare 10% of the 1 billion dollar PDF software market in the next three years and that Nitro PDF Professional is specifically targeted at users who want to easily create and edit PDFs.
De Abrew credits the entrepreneurial spirit and his own excitement in driving to create a product alternative to Adobe's offering.
De Abrew was quoted as saying, "The number one-thing that will drive me to succeed is to tell me that I can't do something... Being a successful entrepreneur, in my opinion, is a function of how well you deal with the setbacks. There's no shortage of great ideas and no shortage of people willing to give it a go...for a while. When the going gets tough, that's when you need your motivation."
His advice to other budding entrepreneurs, "Read books about other successful people, see what they did, think about how you can incorporate their ways of thinking into yours."
To that end and in honor of Karl's feature here is a list of books, all available at Amazon, in no particular order that should serve to inspire you to create the next big plug-in:
