One region of the US that has seen a notable dearth of PDF-centric events has been the Midwest. Well, until November 6, that is, when pre-conference sessions for the inaugural Adobe Acrobat PDF Central Conference will commence. The conference proper will then kick off on November 7 with an Adobe keynote.
With a strong focus on forms, the seminar portion of the show will feature sessions on Reader Extensions, AcroForms, Adobe LiveCycle Designer and enterprise form solutions and will offer delegates an early look at Acrobat 8, still hot off the production line. The new Acrobat offering will be featured in Adobe's opening keynote and in other sessions throughout the show, including a special session by Adobe's Joel Geraci specifically on the premium Acrobat offering, Adobe Acrobat 3D version 8.
The new event will also feature an Adobe Acrobat 'Mini-Conference' aimed at PDF newbies. According to the official conference Web site, this aims to "...provide business decision makers with content enabling them to make informed decisions in the areas of critical forms technology." The program includes introductory sessions on implementing PDF-based solutions and wraps with a Q&A session with a panel of Acrobat experts.
The Adobe Acrobat PDF Central Conference will be held in Council Bluffs, IA's Mid America Center from November 6-9. For more information or to register online, visit the conference Web site.
