German company PixelPlanet has released a brand-new PDF security solution. The PdfCrypter functions as either an application or a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, and can be set to automatically secure outgoing PDF email attachments. The product is available in Standard and Professional versions, with certificate security features limited to the Professional version.
According to Dirk Carstensen, Managing Director of Software Development at PixelPlanet, "Documents which are encoded in such a way are even more secure than a financial statement sent via registered mail with return receipt requested. Indeed, even the recipient's secretary can read the e-mail but not the attached PDF file."
The PdfCrypter is currently available. More information and trial versions can be found at www.pdfcrypter.com.
