This week in PDF has seen a 3D tool add the publication of validation results to PDF and the announcement of a PDF-relevant strategic partnership.
First up, ITI TranscenData has announced the release of CADIQ 6.0. The latest edition of the 3D CAD model validation product identifies shape and fit problems and validates 3D CAD geometry, part features definitions and assembly product structure. Importantly, the software now allows users to publish validation results into 3D PDF reports to enable free distribution of validated product models. In other news, ABBYY, a a developer of document recognition, data capture and linguistic technologies, has announced a strategic partnership with Workshare, a content protection and control provider. Through the partnership, Workshare will integrate ABBYY's optical character recognition (OCR) technologies into its document control and content security offerings to deliver comprehensive PDF solutions.
