October 21, 2010

This week in PDF has seen the announcement of a partnership to provide 3D functionality to users of Acrobat X, along with the release of a new digital rights management (DRM) product.

First up, Tech Soft 3D has announced that Tetra 4D will be the exclusive provider of Tech Soft 3D's 3D CAD converters running within Adobe Acrobat X Pro. Tetra 4D will release 3D PDF Converter as a plug-in running directly from the menu bar of Acrobat X Pro. To be released later this year, 3D PDF Converter is a next generation solution for users of Acrobat Pro Extended and Acrobat 3D who create 3D PDF files today. For more information, check out the Tech Soft 3D website.

In other news, LockLizard has announced Safeguard Enterprise PDF Security, its latest Digital Rights Management (DRM) software product providing PDF DRM protection to the large publisher or corporate enterprise. Administrators can perform batch actions on user, document, and publication records, and information can be readily imported, exported, and backed up. Advanced search and sort facilities, statistics, auditing and reports, allow administration data to be readily available for viewing, printing, and exporting. For more information, visit the official vendor website.

That's it for this week. Watch this space!
