This week in PDF: Third annual PDF/A conference announced

March 19, 2009

This week in PDF has seen the announcement of a conference, while an established PDF vendor has revamped its website.

First up, the PDF/A Competence Center has announced the details of its third annual PDF/A conference. The event will take place from June 17-19, 2009, in the Kosmos in Berlin. This year, the conference will combine technical presentations with tracks for specific PDF/A topics and areas of interest with pre-conference workshops that will cover practical applications of PDF/A. Users from prominent institutions will also be on-hand to report their experiences with PDF/A. There will also be an associated exhibition, where PDF/A Competence Center members will present their solutions. Additional information on the event, including registration details, can be found at

In other news, following its recent merger, established PDF vendor, developer and solution-provider Appligent Document Solutions has revamped its official company website. The new site boasts quick paths into the company's three main divisions: server software, desktop software and professional services. The last of these offerings stems from the merger with Document Solutions, Inc., which was primarily a provider of such services. For more information, or just to check out the new site, visit

That's it for this week. Watch this space!
