Thomson Reuters, a leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, has released a major upgrade to Thomson Reuters EndNote for Windows, its bibliographic management and publishing solution. The new EndNote X5 now allows researchers, librarians and students to view and annotate PDFs. In addition to PDF annotations, EndNote X5 includes several new and improved features to help users save valuable time managing their reference collections.

EndNote X5 includes a new PDF viewer which provides many of the familiar options that are common to other PDF reading software. The EndNote X5 PDF viewer allows users to review an attached PDF document and edit a bibliographic record in a single place. The PDF viewer provides the capability to annotate PDF documents with highlights and comments. It also allows users to search through PDF documents, including searching the annotations.
