Artree, a fun 'tree generator' app, lets you create a unique tree background for your iPad. You control the app by choosing the kind of tree you'd like, where its branches will grow, and what kind of flowers and leaves will develop.

The app was created as a relaxation exercise, with the pleasant end result of a scalable vector-based PDF that you can keep. Users report a fringe benefit: their kids love creating and changing trees for hours on end.

Artree is on sale this week for 99 cents in the iTunes store, making it the cheapest babysitter we know of! You can read more at padgadget.com.
