Controling How Your PDF Displays on Opening

February 14, 2001

To control how your PDF files are opened you need to adjust the Open Settings.

From the FILE menu select 'Document Info' and then click 'Open...'. This dialog presents many options; you can change the way the PDF is displayed: zoom, page number, page layout or change what is displayed on screen: toolbars, menus or window mode. (see Figure 1.1, 1.2, 1.3).

Two options which are very useful are the 'Resize Window To Initial Page' and 'Center Window On Screen', are discussed in one of the previous AcroTips.

Note: Changes will take effect when the file is closed and reopened.
