ARTS PDF releases Aerialist Professional for total PDF workflow automation
March 30, 2005
ARTS PDF has released ARTS PDF Aerialist Professional, its new Adobe Acrobat plug-in for precision PDF document control, featuring a watched-folder processing engine, automatic keyword and index link creation, advanced table-of-contents generator, and powerful image- and layer-manipulation tools.
"Aerialist is already the leading Acrobat plug-in for splitting, merging, stamping, bookmarks, hyperlinks and process automation, but Aerialist Professional goes one better," says Sean Stewart, Senior Product Manager, ARTS PDF. "Business professionals heavily using PDF documents in industries such as legal, finance, pharmaceuticals, IT, publishing and government agencies can quickly reduce the time and resources required to prepare complex documents or whole document collections.
"The functionality (of the watched-folder processing engine) enables total workflow automation for anyone with Acrobat," says Stewart. "A user simply creates the sequence of tasks to perform, selects the folder for processing, and Aerialist Professional does the rest -- the moment PDF documents hit the folder they're processed automatically. And best of all, it's a breeze to run multiple watched folders simultaneously and perform different processes on each of them."
Aerialist Professional adds essential tools for building more intelligent and easier-to-use PDF documents. Users can now build complex tables of contents (automatically generating them from document collections, document information, heading styles, bookmarks and more), can turn every occurrence of a word or phrase in a PDF into an active hyperlink, and can turn document indexes, table of contents, page footers, and so on into active navigational links.
For creative and technical users, Aerialist Professional offers layer and image editing tools. The unique layer tools help users prepare easy-to-use layered drawings and diagrams, and enables users to quickly proof and preview different versions of a design from the one layered page. The image tools help users to quickly and accurately adjust the appearance and quality of images in PDFs prior to distribution by print, the Web or CD-ROMs.

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
