Where is the script?

The problem is not the script itself, but where it's located. If it's
in a Doc Level script, then it will only run once, and your user should
be able to type over it at will (assuming it's not read-only). But if
it's in the field's calculate, validate, or format area, then you have
no hope but to rewrite. My suggestion is to move the script so it only
runs once.

If that's not feasible, there's another solution.
