AFAIK, nothing.
Acrobat 5 was the first version of Acrobat to not need
embedded thumbnails and to use dynamically generated views of the
page instead, however it would still use anything embedded.
Perhaps (I haven't tried this!) Acrobat 6 now ignores the
embedded versions and always uses a dynamic view!??!
