The Acrobat SDK, up to 5.0, has no supported method of converting Word documents to PDF with IAC. In some versions it has kind of worked, but that probably isn't good enough. It shouldn't work in 5.0 at all.

I understand 6.0 may have done more, but I haven't read up on that yet.
