Topic: Does the 5.0 SDK support column select?

Hello,

I am using the 5.0 SDK and writing a plug-in to interface to a database...

Part of the job is to copy selected text to a dialog, allow editing and then write it to a database.

The customer wants to use the Text selection and Column (or table) selection tools.

For the first cut, I simply told Acrobat to copy the marked info to the clipboard... worked great.

However, we must also retain the coordinates within the pdf so that a user can use a program to open the database, select a record and the PDF will open and mark the area that corresponds to that record.

I'm successfully recording the quads for a text select. But what the heck comes back when you have a column select?

Whatever it is, it's not a PDTextSelect, and the 5.0 Core Ref doesn't even acknowledge that there is such a beast. ("TablePicker" (or something close..) is the atomString that comes back from AVDocGetSelectionType. The string appears nowhere in the core manual accompanying 5.0 SDK.)

Is there a place that describes (or some code that shows) what comes back from AVDocGetSelection when using column select and how to capture the quads/rects/whatever that marks the location?

Ever grateful for any crumbs of knowledge...
