We are using PHP to pull data out of text files, create an FDF on
the fly, and display the data in PDF forms.

Very straightforward, works great.

Just before the PDF loads, a copy of the FDF downloads to my
desktop (Mac 9.2.2, IE 5.1). Win XP/IE 6+ users report the
Download Manager sending a file too.

Is there any way to avoid having those FDFs download to the
user's computer? Is that just the way it works? Is it a simple
question of browser settings?

It's something I can live with, but I'd rather not.

It happens whether I use the PHP FDF Toolkit to create the FDF,
save to disk, and redirect to the PDF, or create the FDF on the fly
and send it to the browser (more elegant method, no saving file to

Does the same thing happen to you? Very simple demo:

Any and all help appreciated.
