Hi. I have some probably ridiculously easy questions about acrobat, but here goes.

I work for the online department of a newspaper company and obviously, the bulk of content that we generate is in pdf format.

I've heard that you can develop custom plugins and various programs that interface with acrobat and pdf files, but I don't have any programming experience and I was wondering what exactly you can do with acrobat interfacing and what language is best to program api apps with?

I know you can write javascript to manipulate pdf documents but I'm interested more in higher level acrobat functionality.

Thanks for any general overview descriptions you can give.
