Topic: Excel workbook to pdf, with "named" thumbnails

Hello! I'm very much a beginner when it comes to PDF, and am hoping someone can help.
I have Acrobat 5.0 and am using it to convert entire Excel workbooks into .pdf files. These are reports that have a great deal of graphics in them, and pictures as well. The Excel file size is usually somewhere around 5meg, and when converted, the .pdf is less than 1meg, in some cases less than half a meg! You can see the benefits for me(like I had to tell anyone here, right? *g*).
Anyway, the thing is, the thumbnails are just "named" by the page number. I'd like for them to be named the same thing as the individual worksheets are named in Excel. IOW, the first worksheet in Excel is named "Cover", I'd like the thumbnail in the .pdf file corresponding to this page to be named "Cover" as well. Or a sheet later in the workbook that's named "Charts"... for the thumbnail to be named "Charts".
This way the customer(these reports are emailed to our customers, thus the need for smaller file sizes), can see immediately which thumbnail pertains to the info they wish to see, click on it and get there.
Can this be done? Easily? With a lot of work? I've been told I need to do it in Java. I have no experience with Java at all, but am willing to learn. I have a Java for Dummies book, but not sure if that's going to help me or not.
