I've been flipping through the Distiller Parameters guide and also these forums, but I still have a few questions.

I am a new user of Acrobat and Distiller 6.0.

1) When attempting to use Distiller with ordinary files (Office2000, .tif, et c.) I get a flushing error. When I print to file, and use that file rather than the original I get a perfect document. Am I correct in that this is the only way that a file may be distilled; create a print file and distill that?

2) When using the PDFMaker Macro (the little buttons on the toolbar) in Excel, the bottom couple of inches are cut off in the resultant .pdf file. Print preview (printing to the "Acrobat PDF" printer) shows that the bottom inches will be cut off. However, when I print to file using our Xerox 432ST Document Center, I can then use Distiller to get a perfect file. Any suggestions on how to get the PDFMaker Macro-buttons to work?

(I did check to ensure that both the PDF printer and Excel had the same size paper settings, and they do.)

Any help would be much appreciated.
