Has anybody noticed a big difference in the loading time for the XFA.api plug-in, depending on how Acrobat 6 is started?
If I start it via the task bar, XFA.api usually takes a long time to initialize. Sometimes however it comes up without any delay.
When I start Acrobat by clicking on the link on my desktop it comes up without any delay.
Clicking on a PDF document also brings up Acrobat without any delay.
Starting Acrobat 6 in the Visual Studio debugger to debug a plug-in takes forever, and the time is mostly spent in initializing XFA.api.
Just to cover all bases, I installed Winkey, so that I now can start Acrobat with the Windows key (win-A for Acrobat). And it also starts the application without any delay.
I have seen this on two different machines. One was a fresh install (starting with the operating system, which btw is Win2K), the other machine is "seasoned". Other machines with similar configurations do not show this problem.
Any ideas?
