Topic: Acrobat 6.0 page numbers in footer

I'm trying to customize my page numbers for a footer in Acrobat 6.0. I understand that to "re-number" my pages, I remove the current footer and then add it back.
However, does anyone have an idea on how I can tell the page number to match the "thumbnail number"? Through the "Renumber pages" command I've created sections within my thumbnails, so that one section uses lower case Roman numerals, then restarts with Arabic numerals (and a new page 1).
The re-numbering works great for navigation. Now I just need the footer to match the thumbnail number!!
Does anyone know if it's even possible?
