I understand that there are two methods and several approaches to setting Tab order in Acrobat 6. My question has to do how these work. First let me state what I currently understand, then pose my question.
RULE METHOD - Accessed through the Page Properties, you can select to set the tab order via: Row Order, Column Order, Document Structure, or Unspecified.
EDIT TAGS METHOD - Accessed via the View menu>>Navigation Tabs>>Tags menu, this method purports to offer the most freedom to reorder field tab sequence. Simply by identifying the field tags and dragging them to the appropriate order.
However, my document was "tagged" before I received it. I can't seem to find rhyme or reason to the pre-specified tags. And, Acrobat doesn't seem to allow me to drag the order of these tags to a different order.
Also, if I use the "Unspecified" Rule method with version 6.0.1, which allows me to select "Set Tab Order"... Acrobat will NOT allow me to set the TAB order merely by selecting the fields in the order I want them. The TAG logic seems to override my TAB sequence selection.
MY GOAL - I merely wish to set my tab order and ignore certain calculated fields from that tab order. This used to be so simple in Acrobat 5.
QUESTION - Is there a simple way to accomplish my goal in Acrobat 6.0.1 ???
I've searched the web, contacted Adobe Certified Experts, and contacted Adobe tech support. All to no avail.
I appreciate any help. Or, any suggestions for good resources to explain this functionality and offer a simple approach in Acrobat 6.
