I am writing a Word macro that converts the document to a PDF (more details at the bottom if you want the reasoning behind this and not using the adobe conversion macros).

I seem to be struggling with the PrintToFile setting. If I print to Distiller manually, and set PrintToFile off - it saves fine.
However, when I run my code, it saves -- but the pdf is too large and I can't open it (I think it is a print file) and when I look at the printer dialog box -- PrintToFile is checked again....

My code:

fNAME = "C:\test2.pdf"
ActivePrinter = "Acrobat Distiller"
ActiveDocument.PrintOut Range:=wdPrintAllDocument, OutputFileName:=fNAME, PrintToFile:=False, Collate:=True

Entire Process Description: I am running a mail merge with a SQL backend into a Word document (so it can be easily changed by marketing folks). This is fine. I can create a single word doc for printing the letters -- this is fine. However, I need to save each record's letters to an individual pdf for inclusion in the contact-management-system. I have code that cycles through the mail merge document -- merging a single record at a time -- and then I want to save that small doc as a pdf and keep cycling through...Hope that was clear -- any other ideas are appreciated.
Windows XP/Word 2000/Adobe 6.0

Thanks.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
