Topic: Append background watermark and embed fonts when publishing

I am currently working on a project that stores documents (invoices, letters) through PDF in an electronic document management database.

The documents only contain text using multiple fonts, in order to save database disk space.

What we would like to do next is to offer our customer the ability to download their documents through the web.

Document retrieval and web publishing is not an issue.
However, we would like to modify the PDF files between their database retrieval and HTTP transfer by adding a background image (coming from another PDF, or any image file format), and embedding non standard fonts.
The whole publishing chain will be running on a Unix (AIX) system.

Did anyone face the same problem ? What solution can I use... Is there any open source or cheap product I can use ?

Thanks in advance,

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
