Topic: Word to PDF from an Application

I have a distributed application that currently prints reports to Microsoft Word. This requires the end user to have Word installed on their machine so our application can run VBA Macros on the end user's machine. The VBA Macros are used to generate the report in Word. This is great except it allows the end user to modify the completed report in Word since it is now just a Word document.

Here's what we'd like to know...

Is there a way to take our report that is already created in Word and, thru VBA Macros (we are using VB 6.0), use Adobe to create a PDF from the document and then launch Adobe reader on the document? So, we want to go from our generated report in Word to Create PDF to Read PDF. What does the end user need to have installed on their machine (Adobe Acrobat 6.0) in order to create and read the generated PDF? Or, are there Adobe dll's that can be re-distributed on our application's installation CD that our app can link to create PDF files? Where do we go to find more information on the VBA Macros that can Create PDF and launch the Reader? Anything else we need to know that I'm overlooking?

Thanks
