I've done some reading of past postings regarding this topic but as a beginner, I'm not certain as to the procedure. I've been asked to create a web-based pdf that will accept a digital signature.

Here are my questions:

What will the client and the viewer (software, certificates) need installed on their computers to make this happen?

Do businesses accomplish this without using the digital signature tool? Or in other words, can this be implemented so that anyone randomly can sign the document before submitting?

I may be wrong but I believe I electronically signed a legal and binding document by clicking in an input checkbox and submitting? As compared to the verification I've read about, I wonder how this method would have been verified.

Any answers you can provide or reference direction would be appreciated. Thanks!
