Topic: Is PDF what I need

I'm looking for document production method/format/software to be used with our in-house application. We need to be able to produce

standard documents from data held on our application, either from the user desktop on an ad-hoc basis, or as a batch over-night

process. Typical documents would include:

- Straight forward standard letters,
- Policy schedules. These could be documents in a Master/Detail format (ie. A single Client could have multiple policies).
- Invoices and Statements

In addition to filling in sections of the document from data, we would also need to be able to selectively hide or show sections of

the document and/or change graphics/logo depending on the type of policy.

We have not yet decided on whether the solution is to be client based or server based. If we decide on a client based solution we

would want to be able to integrate with applications written with Visual Basic.

I'm attracted to PDF as it gives the flexibility to deliver documents either by print or email. But I'm unsure if products are

available to do what we need to do.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
