Anybody know how to integrate the scanning function of the HP OfficeJet 5510 All-in-One with Acrobat 6? (I'm running under Win 2000.)
When I initiate a scan from Acrobat, the 5510 appears as (the only) scanner choice, but when I fire it off the HP Director comes up followed by a message saying I'm trying to use a function "on the 'Scan' disk" and that I should put the "Scan" disk in a drive and try again.
The Scan disk doesn't seem to be the utilities disk that came with the OfficeJet 5510. When I put it in, scanning proceeds, but the next time I do it, I have to put the disk in again. Moreover, if I bypass the error message the thing does scan, and the result does end up directly in Acrobat.
In like manner, I can't figure out how to get Acrobat to appear on the HP Director's list of scanning targets, although WordPerfect 10, PowerPoint, Presentations, and even Notepad (along with the usual graphics programs) show up in the list of candidates. So I can't start a scan from the HP Director and have it end up in Acrobat.
Any ideas? (I've sent an email to HP Support too.)
