Topic: Any eBook publishing service out there?

We've had some enquiries about using DRM to secure some PDF books, so that they can be 'sold' on the web.

The Adobe site talks a lot about DRM and Content Server, but I can't see any list of vendors who offer DRM / CS facilities to individual users and obviously a small business doesn't want to fork out for CS itself.

Is there anyone out there at the moment who can a) take a PDF and DRM it, then b) put it on their site as a paid for item, taking a cut of the money and passing the rest back to the PDF owner? I've looked through the 4 vendors mentioned and none of them mention Publishing your own item, only buying someone elses...

The sales volume is likely to be pretty low, say 500 units max., per item (max 10 items, each of btw 5 and 50 pages)

TIA

p.s. by the way, too bad if you did want to order Content Server ... the Order link on the CS page takes you off to purchase Acrobat Pro instead...

Why eBooks and mobile devices don't (yet) pose an existential threat to the PDF

Continuous upheaval is what makes watching the technology industry so exciting. David vs. Goliath battles are waged every day, with startups often winning against much larger businesses. For years and years, many have predicted the decline of the PDF given its age and perceived disadvantages. Today, with the PDF losing ground in emerging areas like mobile and eBooks, the calls for its ultimate demise are growing louder.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
