Topic: Odd omission from Acro 6 PRO CIB (Catalog)

Just picked up a copy of Acrobat 6.0 Professional Classroom in a Book (thanks, Adobe, for delivering it 6 months + after the Standard version...) and noticed the following.

As far as we can see, there is no mention of Catalog or Indexing. Now, this could be just an oversight on the part of a late-delivering editorial team.

But, given the fact that Catalog is one of the most popular features of Acrobat (even now that people have been screwed into having to buy the dearer Professional version to be able to use it) and given the fact that Adobe love to kill off good features and promote the useless ones...

... we are asking ourselves whether this could be the precursor to the removal of Catalog functionality from version 7...

Paranoid? Of course we are! Wouldn't you be, after having been a faithful Adobe reseller for all these years!!!

p.s. spotted from the Professional 6 CIB:

"The following individuals contributed to...the Adobe InDesign (sic) Classroom in a Book:
...Proofreading: Jay Donahue"

Why eBooks and mobile devices don't (yet) pose an existential threat to the PDF

Continuous upheaval is what makes watching the technology industry so exciting. David vs. Goliath battles are waged every day, with startups often winning against much larger businesses. For years and years, many have predicted the decline of the PDF given its age and perceived disadvantages. Today, with the PDF losing ground in emerging areas like mobile and eBooks, the calls for its ultimate demise are growing louder.
