Topic: Problem downloading ebook

I bought an ebook from Amazon ("Reign of the Dead" by Len Barnhart, just for the record) and it said I had to download Adobe reader first. I had Adobe 5.0 but had to download version 6.0 before Amazon would let me download the file. So when I did, I clicked to download and the Amazon page said it was downloading the ebook and a download box flashed up for about 1/1000th of a second and vanished, and the reader launched - but no ebook. I have used it to add various other .pdf I had on my computer files to "My Library" but the ebook from Amazon hasn't appeared.

When it launches it just stays on the grey background and nothing happens.

Can anyone help with ideas as to why this is? It's made me very wary of buying ebooks, and I can't figure out where I'm going wrong.

Thanks.
