Running a studio with many diff macs. Recently gone entirely OSX. Our problem is an inaccurate crop of distilled postscript files, producing pdf's that are incorrectly cropped. ie. pdf dimensions do not match Quark doc dimensions. Postscript files are generated from Quark Xpress (4 and 5). They are then distilled 'manually' using Distiller. We had not noticed the slight inconsistencies in the completed pdfs, until artwork with a thin keyline border, right on the edge of the document, displayed only the top and left border once Distilled. The bottom and right had been cropped off in the generation of the pdf file. Weird - but true. We tried distilling Quark generated .eps files with better results, but still not perfect. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get Distiller/Acrobat/Quark to work accurately? I have exported pdf from Indesign3 with no problems at all. Is it a Quark problem perhaps. Any workarounds would be very much appreciated. The problems has persisted across our migration from OS9 to OSX and from acrobat 5 to 6. Also the problem is not consistent, one minute it is fine, the next it crops off the edges (we're talking parts of a millimetre, not very noticible until you zoom in on the PDF)
Ideas anyone?
