I have had to unpick a hijack / trojan problem, with the help of computercops.us, using hikackthis, ad-aware, spybot - all of which stretched my knowledge to the full.

The offending problem was removed and all appeared well, with the exception adobe reader 6.0.1 on XP, which does not run.

On execution, the error reads: Msoft Visual C++ runtime libary.

runtime error and lists:

C:\adobe/acrobat6.0etc\reader\AcroRd32.exe

I was then advised to download the fol:

Microsoft Windows Script Run-time from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta...laylang=en

and this didn't work. Have tried to download fresh version of reader plus tried the 'repair' mode but all failed. My old registry settings (I think) were deleted on advice as they were corrupted.

How do I proceed from here? Grateful for some advice.
