Topic: Changing images with Reader ?

I'm French (sorry for my english :o)) and I have to make a plug-in with Adobe SDK :
I have to add a form (AcroForm ?) to Acrobat and Reader : a text field with an icon, when the user write something in the text field, the icon change.
Actually, the icon should be a "bar code".
Then, the user print the document and fax it.
At the other side, the man who receive the document use a thing to read the bar codes and the text fields are automaticaly filled.
I already have the function that convert a text into a bar code (tiff format). But I wonder if it's possible (with java for instance) to ask a text field to change an image or an icon (to load it from the disk or to change it "dot after dot").
Else I may create a ps script and then use Distiller (but it's not very easy).
Or else (again) create a "bar code font" and write a function that convert text to "bar code chars" (but I would have to code 2^20 chars !).
Please help me, I'm affraid I wouldn't manage to do what I have to do (heavy sentence). Excuse me because I don't speak a very well English language.
If you don't understand the heavy meaning of my issue, ask me,
PS : To sum up I would like to know if it's possible to create a tiff image on the hard disk and to load it (as a button icon for instance) in acro-java. When I will open the document with Acrobat Reader, if I change a text field, an image will be created on my hard-disk and I will see it appearing in the form...
PPS : If there is an easier way to solve my issue, I would be very happy to learn it...
