Topic: Linking from Hard Drive To CD-Rom

I have a delima. At present I work on a product that has numerous PDF files with links to and from them. Just recently we have had to create a 2nd CD to handle all the data and I was wondering if there was a way I could if I load 1 CD & specify a directory on the hard drive a way I could then link to the CD-Rom.
Is this possiable?
Has anyone tried it before?
Any help would be great.
