Topic: failure to convert doc to pdf

I have just installed Acrobat 6.0 Professional on my laptop which uses Windows XP and Office 2002. The program works fine in terms of viewing, but cannot convert any word document to pdf. When clicking on "Convert to pdf", it starts the operation, but halfway through presents the error message "Acrobat ® Distiller ® has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.".
I have no idea what the problem is. Previously, I used Acrobat 4.0 and had no such problem. Any suggestions?
If I don't manage to make the program work properly, does anyone know if it is possible to have Acrobat Reader 6 and Acrobat 4 (the full version) simultaneously?

Apologies for the - perhaps - naive questions. Hope a power user out there may be able to assist me.

Many thanks in advance.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
