Are there limitations to google's pdf indexing abilities that may be causing google to overlook my pdf files?

I currently have files that were created by FileMaker and converted to pdf files by Distiller that are not showing up in google's result pages. Also, the pdf version is 1.3.

Is there any reason why google would not index these files? They are linked by a directory page so they are reachable. In fact I have other pdf files linked by the page that google does pick up.
The only other reason i can think of for this is that google hasn't crawled my pdf files yet, but is there any other possiblity that I am neglecting?

Thanks!
