Topic: ActivePDF Multipage TIFF conv. w scaling

Hi -

I am using the ActivePDF Toolkit to do some development in house for our aerospace business. We have a variety of document types from multipage reports to large drawings (up to J120 or 34"x120").

I am using Toolkit to both convert scanned TIFFs to PDFs of the above document types, to stamp, watermark, etc.

Where I am running up against it is with both converting a multipage TIFF to a PDF file AND scaling the results to 90% of the original so as to leave whitespace for application of a stamp text element.

My approach is to:
1. use obj.TIFFToPDF() to convert the multipage TIFF to a temporary PDF so I can interogate the bounding box, number of pages, etc.
2. I then create single page PDF based on the bounding box info above
3. I then use the:
TK.PrintTIFF(xTiffFile, xPosX, xPosY, xWD2, xHT2, True)
method to convert the TIFF file to PDF with a scaling factor (xWD2 and xHT2 are scaled down from the original bounding box).

The resultant is a single page PDF with the first page of the TIFF scaled properly; however pages 2-n are lost.

There does not appear to be a method to create an "empty" multipage PDF which I suspect would import all the pages of the multipage TIFF at the desired scale via the PrintTIFF method.

Likewise, the PrintTIFF/CopyForm/TIFFtoPDF/MergeFile methods do not appear to have the ability to scale the input file per the above.

Does anyone have experience with ActivePDF toolkit and have encountered similar issues? Their documentation and knowledge base are thin at best. The users guide is extremely brief with descriptions of the method/property and no direct links to any example code. They do have a how-to, but again very very brief.

Thanks for your help.

Adding a PDF Stamp Comment

OK, so you want to stamp your document. Maybe you need to give reviewers some advice about the document's status or sensitivity. This tip from author Ted Padova demonstrates how to add stamps with the Stamp Tool along with related comments.
